Rotary Table Injection Molding Machine’s Multi-Station Design: How Does It Increase Single Production Yield?

    In the selection of injection molding machines, single-slide, double-slide, and rotary table machines are three common types of equipment. Each machine offers distinct advantages and disadvantages in terms of production efficiency, space utilization, and suitability for various applications. 

     Single-slide injection molding machines typically feature a traditional single mold station design, which is simple in structure and suitable for small to medium-scale production. The advantages of this design include easy operation, low cost, and convenient maintenance. However, the drawbacks are also apparent. Since only one mold operation can be performed at a time, the production cycle is relatively long, especially when frequent mold changes are required, leading to a significant drop in production efficiency.

    Double-slide injection molding machines improve upon the single-slide design by incorporating two mold stations, allowing two mold operations to take place simultaneously. This design helps improve production efficiency, particularly in scenarios that require higher output. Another advantage of double-slide injection molding machines is the reduced mold change time, as one station can complete its process while the other station performs a different step. However, the drawbacks of double-slide machines include larger equipment size and greater floor space requirements. Additionally, the need for coordinated operations between the two stations increases labor costs and adds to the complexity of the machine, making maintenance and adjustments more difficult.

    In contrast, the rotary table injection molding machine utilizes a rotating platen design, often configured with multiple mold stations that allow simultaneous execution of several processes within the same production cycle. Its primary advantage is the significant increase in production efficiency. Multiple stations operate in parallel, enabling more products to be produced within the same time frame. Furthermore, the multi-station design of the rotary table machine ensures that each mold receives more even load distribution during the production process, enhancing both the stability and consistency of production.

    Another important benefit of the rotary table injection molding machine is its higher space utilization. Compared to single-slide and double-slide machines, the rotary table design allows multiple processes to be carried out within a limited space, reducing the floor space required for the production line. Mold changes are also more convenient, which is particularly valuable in large-scale production environments.
